About Us

Steve graduated from North Love Christian School in 1984. After a 10-year bout with cocaine addiction, Steve found complete sobriety through his relationship with Jesus Christ. After his recovery, Steve began Reformers Unanimous, a faith-based addiction ministry, in 1996. What started as a humble, Friday night addiction class with 4 regular attendees in Rockford, Illinois, quickly exploded into a class of more than 300 people from throughout the community.

As word spread, others began inquiring how to bring this program to their community.  Soon a national organization was quickly launched, and shortly after that, an International arm was born. Today, there are more than 800 chapters throughout the nation and twelve foreign countries. Steven Boyd Curington, age 45 of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away, October 30th, 2010. Steve leaves behind a legacy of tens of thousands of lives touched through this program.

Prayers have been traveling to the hearts of the Curington family. Jesus will hold and comfort these hearts. Bro. Steve is with Christ. For a healing touch to our heart we must remember where Steve is. He is in the arms of Christ. We have used Bro. Steve's messages with men and women in our Overcomers group at church. Thank you Lord for giving him life and thank you Lord for Salvation which allows for eternal life.

  • http://addictioncalifornia.com/cocaine-addiction Cocaine Addiction

Cocaine is a powdered extract of the Coca plant. When modified chemically for smoking, it is referred to as crack cocaine.
Cocaine base is water soluble, while the crack form is not. This means
cocaine base can be dissolved in water and injected or snorted as the
power into the nose. The lining of the nose and sinus cavity has enough
water to dissolve the base drug and it is absorbed into the blood stream
there. Cocaine addiction often requires treatment.

One of the reasons cocaine use becomes addictive is because the high is
relatively short lived. The effects of snorting cocaine usually fall off
in about an hour, and another dose is required to maintain the high.
This leads to repeated binge style administration of multiple doses.
Over time, the effect is to train the body to receive a regular supply
    of the drug.
