How to End Hunger

Proverbs 10:3 (Dissected and Defined): The LORD will not suffer (allow) the soul (mind, will, and emotions) of the righteous (those in Christ) to famish (starve): but he casteth away the substance (iniquity; perverse thing) of the wicked.

Daily Devo Paraphrase: There are two types of righteousness.  One type comes from justification.  The Bible says that all my righteousness are as filthy rags.  I cannot obtain this level of righteousness without God doing the work.  That work was provided by the substitutional penalty payment of Jesus.  When I accept this information, I am justified and made righteous in heaven.  He knows me!

The second type of righteousness comes from sanctification.  The Bible also tells me that I should live soberly…and righteously.  I cannot obtain this healthy lifestyle without God doing the work either.  He does this work as I develop a personal relationship.  I am then enjoying the benefits of my sanctification.  I now know Him!

Thus, to be justified is to have Christ “in me.”  But, to enjoy sanctification, I must be “in Christ.”  That is under His influence! Solomon is teaching that God will not suffer the mind, will, or emotions of a righteous man to famish.  This is not referring to Christians who simply have “Christ in them,” but rather to those who are “in Christ.”  In other words, if you enjoy a personal relationship through His indwelling Spirit, your soul will not go hungry.  His relationship will meet your every need.

What does that mean?  It means if your mind has a need, God will meet it.  You have no need to worry!  If your will has a desire, God will meet it-no need to worry!  If your emotions have a burden, God will meet it-no need to worry!  In other words, Christ in you is the “hope of glory.”  But you being “in Christ” will experience God’s glory!

Usually, the reason we do not develop that intimate relationship is because we are seeking other rewards in life.  He promises that not only will we be without contentment, hungry in our soul, but all those earthly rewards will fade as fast as they are found.

“Christ in you” is necessary for salvation.  “You in Christ” is necessary for satisfaction!

Trust we will allow enjoy a weak week!
