Understanding the Hidden Life

Good Morning! Are you enjoying the benefits of sanctification today? Or have you awakened feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or even slightly discouraged?

At RU we use the term the Hid-N-Life™ to define the intimacy we have when living our lives “in Christ”. Simply put, when it comes to true Christian living, it is not about acquiring information about God; it is about a personal relation with God! Such intimacy with Christ can only be enjoyed as we experience God’s work of sanctification in our lives. I have found no better way to advance my own personal relationship with the Lord better than waking to a time of nearly uninterrupted privacy with God in my RU “It’s Personal” Daily Journal (learn more here).

Have you struggled to experience your very own dynamic personal relationship? Well, thanks to the prince of this world and his delegators (powers and authorities), the information needed to develop that personal relation often remains hidden! Just like the devil hides justification from the unbeliever, he hides the benefits of sanctification from the believer.

The Hid-N-Life™ is best described as exercising a measure of confidence (that’s faith) in God’s ability to do the work (that’s grace) necessary in my life to conform me to the image of His Son (that’s fruit) through a daily walk with Him. I will not do the work (that’s performing); I will allow the work to be done in me (that’s transforming). I must realize that God did not come to change my life (that’s self righteousness). He came to exchange it (that’s righteousness)!

As a result, I will die daily through confession and repentance of all sin that is obvious to me or brought to my conscience by the Holy Spirit during my daily time with God and throughout the day. As I do this, I will experience a greater enlightenment in my worship. My enlivened worship will then provide me with the most coveted act of the Spirit, and that is His intuition. With Holy Spirit intuition, I will remain the clean vessel required to qualify for God’s power on my walk and work. It’s simple…I just need to yield to the Holy Spirit!

At the core of the various RU ministries is the goal of exposing this Hid-N-Life™ for all believers to enjoy. God intends for our relationship with Him to be a catalyst for proper actions and reactions in the adversities of life. In order to enjoy His life, we must be purged of our own. This purging is allowed by God, that we may be purified for His use. The Bible say in Job 23:10 that, “when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” James Aughey, an American pastor from the last century, put it this way: “God brings men into deep waters not to drown them, but to cleanse them.”

Again, I say, our personal relationship with Jesus Christ is and ought to be the most important relationship we will ever have! To most, it seems sleep is more important than spending time with their Savior. Christ considers His relationship with us preeminently important. In fact, it is so important that He sends people to Hell for never having one! But there is much more to this personal relationship than just being the property of God. There is more to it than just being Heaven bound.

There is an intimate and personal relationship in which you are not only known by God, but one in which you may know Him as well. God created us to be human beings, not human doings! He doesn’t want us to wake up and do things for Him. He wants us to wake early and be something—in Him!

So up and awake, your journal a priority you should make, lest a walk with God you must fake. Don’t make this mistake, my advice you should take, knowing Him is a piece of cake that only you can bake, simply do it for Christ’s sake!
