In an effort to live our lives spiritually depending ON Him and IN Him in 2010, I have listed my “Ten Refusals for your Perusal”. Please do not allow yourself to live foolishly or fleshly as you may have at times during this past year. “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:6). My desire for you and me this year, as every year, is life and peace! Please consider adopting these following refusals as a guide to ensure Spirit-led followship. My suggestion is for you to read these daily for the first three weeks. Then, read them weekly for the next three months and after that, once monthly. Eventually, you will find these committed to memory and will be able to refer to them during times when you are tempted to live foolishly or fleshly.
1. I will not expect anyone to intentionally please me unless their best interest, they can see. That’s His Love!

2. I will not allow bad news to affect my good views. That’s His Joy!

3. I will not be concerned over lessons God wants me to learn. That’s His Peace!

4. I will not get upset when my expectations are not met. That’s His Longsuffering!

5. I will not be rude to those who give me attitude. That’s His Gentleness!

6. I will not withhold benevolence for my personal convenience. That’s His Goodness!

7. I will not respond in frustration during trials and tribulations. That’s His Faith!

8. I will not express disdain and will endure the pain of those who yank my chain. That’s His Meekness!

9. I will not permit sin in my soul to cause me to lose His control. That’s His Temperance!

10. I will not allow a work-based hypocrisy to keep me from Spirit-led transparency. That’s the Hidden Life.

To Correct an Error of Refusal:
I will not dread when I fail to be Spirit-led!
Rather, I’ll recall my med: to quickly nail my soul dead.
